How to Edit a Guide
Whether you’re updating questions, refining logic, or adjusting tone, editing your Guide is an essential part of crafting high-quality research flows. Vamp makes it easy to revisit and improve your Guides at any time – without disrupting your existing work.
Team members with a Viewer role are not able to edit Guides.
Choose a Guide to Edit
First, navigate to the Guides page in the navigation menu.
In the Search bar, enter the name of the Guide you want to edit.
Alternatively, the Date Created dropdown menu allows you to sort the Guide listing by “Guide Name”, “Date Created”, or “Date Published”.
Additionally, toggling the Show Archive button will display archived Guide entries.
Next, from the Guide listing, click the View Guide button next to the specific Guide you want to edit.
This will direct you to the Guide's detail page.
Enter Edit Mode
In the Guide’s detail page, hover your pointer over the More options icon (three vertical dots) and select Edit.
This will direct you to the Edit Guide page.

Limits
To edit when interviews will be conducted and how many interviews you want to collect for this Guide, navigate to the Limits section. This helps you manage your monthly interview allotment across multiple Guides without needing to worry about going over. All fields in this section are optional.
Interview Limit
To edit the maximum number of interviews, enter the desired number in the Interview Limit (optional) field. If you set this field to "0" (zero), no limit will be applied.
Start Date and End Date
The Start Date (optional) and End Date (optional) fields allow you to edit the date range when interviews are publicly accessible.
An empty Start Date indicates that interviews will be conducted as soon as the Guide is published.
If you set a future Start Date, the Guide will be marked as "Scheduled," and no interviews will be conducted until that date.
An empty End Date allows interviews to be conducted indefinitely into the future, until the Interview Limit is reached, the Team's interview quota is depleted, or the Guide is set to "Draft" or archived.
If a Guide reaches its End Date, it will be marked as "Complete" and will stop collecting new interviews.
A Guide set to "Draft" will not collect interviews when it reaches the Start Date. The Guide must be published before any interviews will be conducted.
Start Date and End Date fields are set using the timezone of the Team Member editing the Guide, as selected in their Profile Settings. Interviews will be conducted between the beginning of the day on the Start Date and the end of the day on the End Date.
Once you have finished editing your limits, click the Next button at the bottom right of the page to proceed to the Prompt and Interview Questions sections.
Prompt
To make edits to the information that guides Vamp's interview questions, navigate to the Prompt section.
The prompt is a key part of the Guide, as it tells Vamp what kinds of questions it should ask the participant during the interview. Enter your edits in the Prompt text area to update the context and instructions for the AI.
Interview Questions
To make edits to the static questions Vamp will ask, navigate to the Interview Questions section.
You may optionally provide static questions that are asked verbatim at the beginning of an interview. Any static questions you list will count against the number of questions you specify in the Approximate Number of Questions dropdown menu.
- To add a new question, click the + Add Question button.
- To edit an existing question, simply click and type in the text box.
- To remove a question, click the trash can icon next to it.
